Scholarship Funding at CMC

Why private scholarships are necessary

Colorado Mountain College's tuition is one of the lowest in the state, yet many students who are accepted for admission cannot attend because of a lack of finances. The college has scholarships available, but of the total financial aid dollars awarded to Colorado Mountain College students, only 5% comes from private sources.

Many of the college's students are economically disadvantaged and look toward federal financial aid to fund their educations. Also, in many of our resort communities an income level that affords decent living accommodations may disqualify a student from federal financial aid programs.

In addition, merit students might prefer to stay in CMC communities for the beginning of their education, yet sometimes choose to attend other colleges or universities because of the availability of a scholarship at that learning center.

A contribution to the Colorado Mountain College scholarship fund will endow a permanent scholarship. The monies generated from this endowment fund will guarantee that each year more people in our region will be able to realize their dreams of education and professional training.

Many scholarships have been endowed in memory of a special individual.  It is a wonderful way to create a lasting memory of a friend, relative or community leader.
