                                                             Aspen Glen Scholar Fund

The purpose of the Aspen Glen Scholar Fund is to provide scholarship assistance to a qualified Roaring Fork Valley resident who is a graduate of Colorado Mountain College, or who has an AA degree from an applicable institution, and wants to complete the remaining two years of a four-year Bachelor Degree at Colorado Mountain College.

Recipients of the Aspen Glen Scholar Fund must be:

  • A legal resident of the US
  • A resident of the Roaring Fork Valley
  • Intending to enroll in a B.A. program at Colorado Mountain College

Aspen Glen Scholars must also:

  • Enroll in at least 6-credit hours per award period
  • Maintain a GPA of 2.0 to retain the scholarship each semester

All gifts to the Aspen Glen Scholar Fund will be held in the CMC Foundation account. When, or as needed, these funds will be made available to qualified students.  100% of all CMC employee gifts to this fund will be matched, up to $25,000 per year, by Alpine Bank. 95% of all community gifts to this fund will go directly to the Aspen Glen Scholar program. The remaining 5% will cover CMC Foundation administrative costs. An Aspen Glen Club member may serve on the Aspen Glen Scholar Selection Committee, to help indentify scholarship recipients.

Our goal is to award $5,000 annually: At least 2 scholarships/year towards a 4-year BA degree at CMC:
Year 1 — we need approx. $2,500 for one student (for 1 Junior for  2 semesters)
Year 2 — we need approx. $5,000 for 2 students   ($2500 each for 1 Junior and 1 Senior)
Year 3 — same as Year 2

The Aspen Glen Scholar Fund will be available by the fall semester of 2011 and will be awarded as needed until the funds are depleted.
