Colorado Mountain College Offers Third Most Affordable Bachelor's Degree at a Public College or University...

The U.S. Department of Education has identified Colorado Mountain College as the third most affordable four-year public college in the country. The College Affordability and Transparency Center compiled the list to help students make better-informed decisions about higher education. The center based its calculations on tuition and required fees for a beginning college student for the 2011-12 year, the same year that CMC introduced its four-year degrees in business administration and sustainability studies.

Even if the center's calculations had been formulated using the slightly higher in-district tuition rates for upper division classes, the college still would have ranked among the top 10 most affordable public schools in the country.

In fact, CMC's annual in-district tuition and fees for a beginning full-time student that year totaled less than one-fourth of the national average. No other Colorado institution made the center's list of the top 10 percent of the most affordable public four-year colleges.

...and Ranks in the Top 20 Community Colleges for Student Success.

A recent CNN/Money report rated Colorado Mountain College as one of the top 20 out of nearly 800 community colleges from around the nation for successful graduation and transfer rates. Among Colorado's two-year colleges, CMC was ranked No. 1.

CollegeMeasures.org, a reporting tool supported by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and used by CNNMoney, identified Colorado Mountain College as No. 17 in the nation for graduation plus transfer rates among schools with more than 200 full-time freshmen.

This means Colorado Mountain College students are more successful than those at most two-year colleges. They are graduating and transferring to traditional four-year colleges and universities at a rate that is rivaled by only 16 other community colleges in America!

Compared to similar-sized schools in the same report, Colorado Mountain College ranks in the top 2 percent.
